It has been a long ten months since you heard from us. But we are back and with a few great new features as well as a number of improvements under the hood in that time. The developers are back in gear and working on even more coming soon.
The biggest change that we have made is how friending works. We realize there are many different relations that you have with the other people on this site. Some you just want to follow and some that you really trust. The new Flock system lets you manage these sorts of things.
Previously, there was only one type of relationship; being 'friends' with another user. That meant a number of things: It meant they showed up on your user page, it meant they could see your friends-only content, and it meant you can track them on your friends-list page. Now, your 'friends' have turned into your 'flock'. For flock members you can control all of these things seperately. You can just list one character as a friend on your profile, and have another one who you just watch (as a fan for instance), and a close friend where you set all three. And these can all be changed at any time.
All of your friend list has been converted to this new system, with each friend being a watch/trust/show flock member, the same way they were as an old-style friend. You can alter these at any time by clicking 'edit this page' from the details link above your friends list on your profile page.
Another new feature is that we also understand that there are many different types of characters, some are for characters you play in games or characters you play with friends. Others are you. You now have the ability to select what kind of character this is. You can find this by clicking 'edit this page' on any profile you own, and clicking on the words below the name that apply to that character ('me', 'fursuit', 'roleplay', etc).
We know we have been gone, but many things are starting around Furspots and we hope to have even more improvements to show you soon.
